Transformers Cybertron Decepticons

When Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons came in from our friends over at Activision there was quite a high level excitement at Family Friendly Gaming. The Nintendo DS has Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons, and Transformers War for Cybertron Autobots. These are similar games with one major distinction - which side you are playing. Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons is the bad guys, so you get to play characters like Megatron, and Star Scream. Long distance attacks, as well as up close melee are used in this hand held robotic title.

There is a lot of robotic violence in Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons. The details of the Transformers disappointed me a little bit as well. The Nintendo DS can not handle everything Activision was trying to do with Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons. Getting to transform into vehicle mode at any point is a neat feature, and I loved going into vehicle mode.

Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons excels in terms of the audio department. There is a lot of fantastic voice acting used in this hand held video game. I can understand all the dialogue in the home console versions, but to have it in the DS version is quite a treat. The only down side to it, is we are playing the bad guys in Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons, and they are having the player do bad stuff. They are called bad guys for a reason. They are not building hospitals, and taking care of orphans.

Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons contains some unlockables that will interest fans. The main story mode is on the short side, but was interesting. If you pick up Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons, and Transformers War for Cybertron Autobots, and you can unlock all thirty characters. Two to four players can play one another with the multi-card mode.

There are aspects of Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons that are a lot of fun. There are also aspects where I felt like I was trudging through. I also found some problems while trying to lock on. I was in boss battles, facing the boss, and it would not lock on. I had to get close enough. When I got close enough I would take damage. Turning can be clumsy at times, and certain areas have some frustrating jumps.

Megatron is using dark energon to destroy the Autobots in Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons. I can not condone such genocide even though this is just robots. Families will need to pay attention to the rating, and violence in Transformers War for Cybertron Decepticons. Also keep in mind you are playing with bad guys. I would expect better from the Autobots version.
