Toy Story

Toy Story was a revolutionary movie that made a lot of people pay attention to Pixar. I remember seeing this movie at the theater and being very impressed. Disney has produced a wonderful package of Toy Story in Blu-ray. The package Family Friendly Gaming was given has the Blu-ray, and DVD discs. There is exclusive Toy Story 3 content on these discs as well. Toy Story tells the story of toys that come to life when humans are not looking. They have hopes, and fears as they are there for the child Andy.

Visually Toy Story still looks really good. The toys look very realistic, and have fantastic animation. The attention to little details is absolutely amazing. Along with the usage of certain toys in specific situations. A few toys are in peril, and there is one scary moment. Children are drawn into Toy Story, and so are adults. After watching this Blu-ray disc I have been looking at my kids toys, turning away, and looking back. Sure it is too much to wish for, but this movie makes it look so real.

I remember being surprised that such big names as Tim Allen and Tom Hanks did voices in Toy Story. Now they seem like perfect fits for those roles. I also believe that their voice acting has made them larger stars than any in person acting they have performed. Toy Story has some great music that fits this movie perfectly. There are some very memorable lines in this movie that people repeat all the time.

If I could work one other place aside from Family Friendly Gaming, it would be Pixar. The behind the scenes special features about their company thrilled me. The scooter races, and John Lasseter's car will stay with me for years. There is also deleted scenes, making of, Buzz balloon, film makers reflect, and a ton more of special features. This package is the definitive Toy Story package that will thrill millions of families.

The menu screens of Toy Story have an intelligent design. The only issue we ran into is some of the words are small. We have noticed that in quite a few Blu-ray discs over the years though. The storyline touches on issues like jealousy, accepting your role, and knowing who you really are. Toy Story is the kind of movie that can be enjoyed by all ages. All of us here at Family Friendly Gaming had fun watching Toy Story on Blu-ray.

Woody really grows in Toy Story. He was top dog of the toy world until Buzz Lightyear was purchased. He had to learn to cope with being downgraded. Buzz had to eventually come to grips with the reality that he was a toy - not the real Buzz Lightyear. There are some bad things characters do to one another. There is also heroism, and helping one another out. I really enjoyed Toy Story, and the lessons it teaches.
