TouchMaster Connect
SCORE: 86
TouchMaster Connect is the latest in the TouchMaster franchise.
Midway had originally brought this franchise to the attention of Family
Friendly Gaming. With their financial problems last year, well this
franchise was put on the back burner. Warner Bros Interactive knows a
good thing, and has brought TouchMaster Connect to market. Family
Friendly Gaming was provided a reviewable copy of this Nintendo DS game
for the purpose of this review.
The twenty challenging games in TouchMaster Connect range graphically.
Some have amazing details, and great colors. Others use smaller
graphics. Putting the monsters in the grave is one of the strangest
looking mini games I have ever played. There are card games in
TouchMaster Connect, however there is no gambling. Players earn points
based on how well they do.
TouchMaster Connect has some fun sounds that fit the theme of this fun
mini game compilation. I almost cringe at saying mini game compilation
because the mini games on this DS cartridge are much more involved than
most mini game compilations. The directions to each of the mini games
are relayed in word format which means the player needs a basic reading
ability. Some of the mini games can be figured out without reading, but
others are more complex.
I like TouchMaster Connect, I like it a lot. There are a wide array of
games to play. Card games like Tower are a blast to play over and over
again. The Tic Tac Trivia is another one I enjoyed. Dodge Bull was a
surprise. I can understand that some of our readers are doing the math.
Twenty mini games in this one, and there is another franchise with 101.
True. But like I said before, the games take longer in TouchMaster
Connect, and are more involved.
The controls work wonderfully in TouchMaster Connect. Some of the games
in TouchMaster Connect allow D-pad or touch screen. This diversity goes
a long ways with me. I love it when a video game gives me options. The
games in TouchMaster Connect are fun to play. The main goal is to score
high, and get in the top five. Then of course a player wants to get the
high score. TouchMaster Connect includes a wireless single card download
play for two players.
TouchMaster Connect includes a connection to Facebook and Twitter so you
can let your friends know how well you have done on this Nintendo DS
hand held video game. The lessons in TouchMaster Connect are attention
to detail, moving quickly, and some mild strategy. The whole monsters
mini game was downright strange. I hope this franchise continues on for
years to come.
