Supermarket Mania

One of the best things about writing for Family Friendly Gaming is seeing the impact and change we affect on the video game industry. It is so cool to know the movers and shakers in the video game industry are reading our reviews, and implementing our suggestions. There are few jobs out there where you get to see that kind of amazing progress. Supermarket Mania is the classic example of this. I suggested this game would work better on the DS, and look at what I am reviewing.

Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code to get a copy of Supermarket Mania. The game costs 500 Wii Points which is really good for a time management game of this caliber. Supermarket Mania is a downloadable game so you will need a wi-fi connection, and set up the Nintendo Dsi. The touch screen controls work masterfully in Supermarket Mania.

The comic book storylines are done with a magnifying glass that the player must move around to see all of it. The game play levels look great on the Nintendo DSi. It can get confusing when there are a lot of customers walking around, but there are recognizable icons over their heads if they are waiting for a shelf to be filled. When I waited too long I got to see an angry face.

The music in Supermarket Mania is upbeat, friendly, and happy. The whole robot boss was odd, but few of us play these time management games for the stories. We love to quickly recognize a need, and fill it. The special effect sounds are good, even an angry customer. No matter how well you do in Supermarket Mania you will let someone down. Can not please everyone all the time. Accept that fact, and your stress will be lower.

The story includes fifty levels, and twenty shop upgrades. There are different shops, customers, products, and an endless mode. I feel that Supermarket Mania is worth the money, especially since we are taking five dollars. Supermarket Mania on the DSi is a way better experience than the Personal Computer version in my opinion.

The game play is the biggest improvement for Supermarket Mania on this format. The touch screen works so much better than the mouse in my opinion. There were no glitches in terms of touching shelves, and the game plays very smoothly. I had a lot of fun playing Supermarket Mania on the DSi, and hope G5 Entertainment continues to port over their titles to this little machine.

Supermarket Mania is all about helping others, and providing an important service. There is also a lesson in working hard for a living. Start at the bottom and work your way up. I see so many wonderful lessons in Supermarket Mania that I hope you will give it a look. It was awesome to be able to review Supermarket Mania on the DSi. This game proves to me that people read my reviews, and act upon them.
