Stargate Atlantis Season Five

Stargate Atlantis Season Five wraps up the television show. Which is fine with me because all of the shifting in the cast made this one strange show to try and follow. Stargate Atlantis Season Five also kept going down strange paths, getting rid of characters and bringing them back for an episode or two.

There is some stand out acting especially from the Wraith Todd. The level of violence is about the same in Stargate Atlantis Season Five, as the previous seasons. There are some more dramatic explosions in key episodes. There are episodes where certain female characters should put on more clothes, and there are also some very bloody gory parts. Things like a bullet being taken out of someone.

Bad language continues in this series to the point it deserves a PG-13 rating at a minimum. There is a lot of bad attitudes, and deception pulled off by the “good guys” in Stargate Atlantis Season Five that really sticks out. Petty jealousy, and in your face instead of grace are also there.

Thankfully Stargate Atlantis Season Five does not have to explain every little sci-fi fantasy technology they create. This allows the stories to flow along much faster. On the down side it leaves many gaps in the storylines, and there are things that make no sense. I was against Woolsey becoming the new commander at first, but at the end he is doing a capable job of commanding Atlantis.

The Ancients have a much smaller role in Stargate Atlantis Season Five. I was surprised to see the Asgard brought back, but then no one, and nothing is ever really dead in this fantasy universe.
