Pizza Delivery Boy

Pizza Delivery Boy

Pizza Delivery Boy is a mix between Cooking Mama and Crazy Taxi. You create the pizzas the way the customers want them. Then you speed around the town to the delivery points. The faster you get them to their destination the higher the price the customer pays. Every day you work, you get one off (editor: well sort of). Days off consist of finding an errand to perform for another business. These grant you additional recipe pages, as well as more money.

There is a comic look and feel to Pizza Delivery Boy. Plenty of colors in this fantasy world. The layout of the towns is absolutely odd in my opinion. You can run over anything your size or smaller. Running into cars or trucks will not do your scooter too well. This will also slow you down as you are trying to get to the customer as fast as possible. The pizza's look realistic to the point where I wanted to go cook my own after playing this Wii game.

I really enjoyed how encouraging the chef brothers are in Pizza Delivery Boy. They also encourage you to hurry up in getting the pizza's there in time. The music is good in this game, and I found myself enjoying it as it played. I did not find any offensive language while Pizza Delivery Boy on the Wii. The special effect sounds are good, especially the timer sound.

Majesco Entertainment made sure there is a lot of unlockable content in Pizza Delivery Boy. You can play for weeks unlocking all of the content in Pizza Delivery Boy. Part of the fun of this game is learning the towns, and memorizing the pizza's. Different customers want different toppings. Thankfully there is a hint which does take away time. Pizza Delivery Boy joins a crowded casual field, but will appeal to fans of Crazy Taxi.

The one gripe I have about Pizza Delivery Boy is the controls can be loose at times. This looseness wound up giving me a headache on more than one occasion. I also found multiple areas to get stuck in. I could back up, but that cost me precious seconds. The layout of the towns made little to no sense, especially having to figure ways to places on the map in a hurry.

I know that Pizza Delivery Boy is a bit on the extreme side. This Wii game did give me a new found respect for the job of someone delivering pizza. Imagine trying to find all these people's houses and not knowing where you are going. This job can not be easy. Pizza Delivery Boy also teaches memorization, and taking shortcuts to get to the goal. I found more good in Pizza Delivery Boy than bad, and feel this is a very interesting mix of styles.
