Pizza Deliciozo

Pizza Deliciozo, from Xing Interactive, implements the match 3 style genre to bring a fast paced, entertaining puzzler to the personal computer. Gamers will have the opportunity to start their own pizza shop in the country, and work towards expanding their business into the city…and beyond!

As the game starts, the pizza shop is small with limited pizzas on the menu. The implementation of the match 3 is used to gather the pizza toppings based on the customer orders. Toppings include various meats, sauce, onions, cheese and more. Customers place their order and then wait for the pizza to be made. This is where timing and strategy comes into play, because customers can become disgruntled and leave without paying if they have to wait too long. As the customers line up, there is a meter above their heads (line of hearts) which shows their satisfaction. Candy and other items can be used to keep the customers happy while they wait, if you feel their satisfaction meter is getting too low. I would recommend using the “hints’ in the beginning, as they help explain the layout and goals of the game.

Complete different levels in the game and earn money to upgrade your pizza shop and menu – to include more pizza toppings and upsell items. Money earned can also be used to buy extra “lives”. Each time you fail to complete a level (making the desired profit), you can use a life to repeat that level. Make sure to use money wisely as you expand your pizza business.

The match 3 style is implemented well for the most part. Some of the strategy was taken out of the game when combos would automatically generated too frequently as the icons fall. At times, so many would generate automatically that all I had to do was simply hand out the pizzas after doing a few matches. This was the only real downside I saw with Pizza Deliciozo.

The visual presentation is well done. Food icons and the shops are realistic and detailed. Between levels there is a map that shows the progress. This map is somewhat simplistic, and could have benefited from the details of the other areas in the game.

Xing Interactive advertises Pizza Deliciozo as a family friendly game, and I could not agree more. This is an entertaining puzzler that the entire family can enjoy. I thoroughly enjoyed playing Pizza Deliciozo and look forward to what Xing Interactive develops in the future.
