Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure

Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure is a side scrolling adventure where a little girl goes on a treasure hunt. She does this in side scrolling levels where there are coins, treasure chests and more to collect. Enemies will get in her way as she progresses. She can jump on their heads or avoid making contact with them while she moves from left to right.

Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure has some nice animations and great colors. Certain levels have a Mario flavor to them in graphics. The enemies are odd looking, and I am not really clear on what they are supposed to be. Jumping on their heads is the main violence in Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure. The artistic nature in which the story is told is pretty good.

The music in Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure is really fun. I found myself enjoying the menu screen music time after time. Since it is pretty easy to die in Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure, I found myself on the map screen the most. The special effect sounds are okay. Some are better than others. Those that are tired of saving princesses may enjoy this game where they collect treasure.

For the price the length of Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure is good. I took an interest in this app before I found out Family Friendly Gaming was getting a reviewable copy. I can see Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure selling really well. Some of the levels are intense and collecting all the treasure chests and gold coins will take multiple attempts.

I found a few quirks with the controls. Part of the problem is the platform. Putting our fingers on top of a jump button, and a sliding bar (which determines which direction you will go) blinds us to the control we are using. The jump button is on the right, and the sliding bar is on the left. For some reason when I took my finger off the sliding bar, and put it back on my character would walk to the left. This was a problem when I was on the far left of an edge. I lost track of how many times I wound up dying because I thought my finger was in the right spot. Or I touched the screen and my character did not jump. I had not hit the jump button, but touched right beside it.

Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure is like most other 2D side scrolling games. It teaches us to plan our moves, avoid pitfalls and enemies. There is also a minor lesson in greed in Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure. The core of the story is to get a treasure. It reminds me how important it is to teach charity, so I was allowed to touch on it in this review. I enjoyed Pixeline And The Jungle Treasure, and like the concept of this game. I just wish there were better ways to control on the iPod Touch/iPhone.
