Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas

I have not had a lot of Phineas and Ferb exposure in my life. My first born son really likes it, and after watching I can see why. Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas is a DVD that contains five episodes of the show. This gives children 80 minutes of entertainment. Well until you get the extras, and we will get to that in this review in just a bit. One of the episodes is Christmas related. It is all about Santa Claus, so do not expect to hear a lot about Christ's birth.

From what I have seen of Phineas and Ferb in the past, I was not impressed with the art style. Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas was a lot better looking visually than I was expecting. This pleasant surprise continued as I witnessed the decent animation. Perry the Platypus has a few violent acts against his nemesis Dr. Doofenshmirtz. The doctor is evil, but shown in a comical way. He goes about destroying Christmas in one episode, but is not really against the religious holiday.

The first shock I had watching Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas on DVD was the music. It is really good. No wonder kids love this show. The music draws you in, and explain a lot about the storylines. Every episode has a song or two to keep the viewers attention. There is some crude humor in Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas. It is not in every episode, but definitely worth a mention.

Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas contains way more bonuses than I was expecting. The virtual fireplace is cool, as is the Christmas Perry-Oki. Getting to sing songs is one of my favorite past times. I also appreciated the Keep on Buildin' feature which let me go behind the scenes of the show's creators composing a song. If all of this were not enough there is also a bonus episode of the show.

The most interesting thing about the episodes on Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas is where the control really is. Perry the platypus is actually a secret agent, and his actions influence more of the plot than anything Phineas, Ferb, or Candace do. I almost hate to admit this, but I actually enjoyed the episodes on this DVD. Yes, I enjoyed Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas.

Phineas and Ferb A Very Perry Christmas is a lot cleaner than I was expecting. This is a Disney product so it makes sense. The boys hearts are always in the right place. They routinely make their older sister look foolish, and are always inventing all kinds of crazy gadgets. I did notice a comment on old earth, and animals are shown to be equal to humans.
