New Zealand Story Revolution

New Zealand Story Revolution allows the player to take on the role of Tiki. He must save his friends from the evil Leopard Seal, by freeing them from various locations in New Zealand. I am not making this up, this is what this Ignition Entertainment game says. I am not sure what the bow and arrow carrying Tiki is supposed to be. He looks like a chick (editor: baby chicken) with tennis shoes on to me. There is no doubt that New Zealand Story Revolution is a Kirby clone, where some different things are tried on the Nintendo DS. I do not feel it comes close to the level of Kirby personally.

New Zealand Story Revolution looks small. I understand that we are following the exploits of a chick, but still. There is a lot of confusion going on, and too many blocks are the same color for my tastes. There is some violence as Tiki shoots, freezes, and burns the enemies. There are a fair amount of colors, but the details look like they were ported from the Gameboy Advance.

I found the music to be pretty cool in New Zealand Story Revolution on the Nintendo DS. The shooting special effect sound did not bother me, which is good because I had to hear it a lot. I wish this game had explained more to me what was going on. What is the point of a quirky story on the back of the case, and in the book if the game does not flesh it out?

New Zealand Story Revolution contains a single play download option so more than one player can interact. Aside from that, there is little reason in my eyes to replay New Zealand Story Revolution. I found this game for only a few bones, but I would not recommend spending your money on it. Unless of course you enjoy a frustrating experience.

I had a lot of problems with the controls of New Zealand Story Revolution. Mainly that had to deal with the same colored blocks. Some things I could double jump through, and others would not let me. I wound up very confused about where I could go. I did not have fun playing this game.

I love how Tiki is trying to save his friends, and stop an evil creature. New Zealand Story Revolution never goes into this, so ultimately the only lesson I came away with was to figure out how to get through each level.
