Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister
SCORE: 87
Her Interactive is back, and was gracious enough to give Family
Friendly Gaming a reviewable copy of Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister.
This is the twenty-second game they have created in the main Nancy Drew
mystery series. There have been some casual games as well. This time
Nancy Drew is trying to solve a storm tracking team from Canute who keep
having some bad luck. While twisters are being chased in Oklahoma Nancy
is chasing the source of these accidents.
I noticed some nice improvements in the animations of Nancy Drew Trail
of the Twister. The characters are much more animated visually, and do
not look stiff like in some older Nancy Drew games. There are some scary
images in Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister like watching a tornado go by.
There is some wonderful education that players can read about twisters
in this PC game. This is a nice touch that computer games can do, and I
appreciate it.
I also believe the voice acting has improved in Nancy Drew Trail of the
Twister. Characters have some real emotion in this game, which really
helps solve the mystery. There are characters you will relate to, and
ones you can not stand. The music fits the mystery theme of Nancy Drew
Trail of the Twister. Some of the subtle verbal content will go right
over the heads of children, which may be why the case says from 10 to
Adult.
One of the replay values to Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister is
collecting pennies and using them to challenge mini games. The mystery
has some easy parts, and difficult parts. Thankfully Her Interactive
included Junior and Senior Detective modes. I would advise newcomers to
start on the Junior mode until they are ready for the additional
challenge.
Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister has a cool feature in erasing mistakes.
I really like this idea, and feel it helps this game in a lot of ways.
The game plays like previous versions. Driving around felt a little
weird but I got the hang of it. Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister keeps
enough notes so the player can think about what action(s) to perform
next. I had fun playing Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister.
Nancy is trying to unearth the truth among people who have their own
agendas. One might think she was trying to traverse the polluted waters
of the political world in Washington DC. I have known people from OK,
and they were very honest and genuine. Of course those from the college
are portrayed pretty well - arrogant, self absorbed, and thinking they
know better than everyone else. Nancy Drew Trail of the Twister exposes
the dark side of human nature. Learn from this game, and pick a better
path.
