Minute to Win It

This Wii game exposed me to Minute to Win It. Guy Fieri and his wild hair host this NBC competition show. Players have sixty seconds to complete each challenge. They take normal house hold items, and have created insanely difficult games. Think I am exaggerating? Try fanning eggs into a certain area with a pizza box. Or stacking three golf balls on top of one another. Are you eyes huge yet?

The presentation of the game show, and the stages are fantastic in Minute to Win It. The characters look ugly though. I am sorry ya'll, there is no other way I can describe it. They look slightly better than Miis. The in game representation of Guy Fieri looks nothing like the front cover. This is sad, because the graphics section is the only thing that keeps this Wii game from being a superstar.

Minute to Win It made a very important first impression with its Get Up song. This song captivated me so much that I found it on iTunes and downloaded it. All of us have been jamming to this song. This song got me excited about playing Minute to Win It, which is good because at the time I was thinking: "oh no, not another video game based on a game show." The excitement continues thanks to the hosts voice. He really carries this show in ways I can barely express with words. The voice that explains how to play the games adds a technical level that works for this game too.

Zoo Games has really upped the ante in terms unlockable content. Players use their winnings to purchase additional content. There is a good amount of customization for the different characters. Thirty six mini games in Minute to Win It that are all exciting challenges. I have to admit when what I had to do was being explained my reaction (editor: many times) was: "you have got to be kidding me."  Another reaction others had was: "I have to do what?" Even though Family Friendly Gaming was given a reviewable copy, I feel that Minute to Win It is worth the money.

The game play in Minute to Win It is very tiring. The challenges in this Wii game made me work for them. I learned very quickly to go into the training mode and work on the mini games before playing the episodes. If you don't, you can expect to be humbled very quickly. Each of these mini games are solvable in the sixty seconds. I know the first few times you try them, you may question that statement. Trust me with practice they are possible. The physics on things like how the eggs roll is actually pretty good. Zoo Games put a lot of effort into this area of Minute to Win It. I had a lot of fun playing Minute to Win It, as did everyone else who played it here.

There are a lot of different game shows on television that grant the player a million dollars if they succeed. Minute to Win It is one of the few I have played where I actually felt like I would earn it. The biggest lesson I got out of Minute to Win It is you can do it. This game can really help build confidence. If you have Wii Motion Plus then the controls are even better in this game. I hope to see sequels to Minute to Win It in the near future. Or other different kinds of game shows. Maybe a Hole in the Wall game, or a game based on MXC.
