Mechanic Master 2

Yolanda and I were talking the other day about company names. She
likes the name Red Wagon Games because it reminds her of having innocent
fun as a child. I can see her point. They also publish video games that
are much safer than a lot of them out there. When Mechanic Master 2 came
in to review on the Nintendo DS I became very interested. This hand held
video game has the players put certain items on the play screen, and
then press play. The goal is to keep your guys safe, and get rid of the
bad aliens. Sounds easy huh?
Part of the fun of Mechanic Master 2 is learning what each item does.
Certain items like the fans need a power source, otherwise they will
just sit there. Thankfully Mechanic Master 2 allows the player to
quickly make changes, and restart the attempts. This really enhances the
learning abilities. I would notice something in a failed attempt, and
improve on my next try. Many times that next try solved the puzzle.
The visuals in Mechanic Master 2 are okay. I like some of the colors,
and the various animations. These big bellied aliens are abused greatly
in this Nintendo DS video game. There are cut scenes between levels
where they get hurt as well. Think of the Looney Tunes and you can
comprehend the level of violence in Mechanic Master 2.
Mechanic Master 2 has over one hundred levels and a level editor. You
will get your moneys worth out of this DS game. Yes Family Friendly
Gaming was given a reviewable copy for this review. If I knew about this
game before that happened, I would have purchased a copy myself.
Mechanic Master 2 is that good. There is a multicard download feature
where two family members can share levels they have created.
The musical track in Mechanic Master 2 is pretty good. I enjoyed the fun
and fresh sounds this hand held title brought to me. I did cringe as I
hurt the poor little alien creatures. I am not sure what they did to me.
This DS game explains each piece of machinery as it is being moved. This
helped me tremendously. I was able to quickly learn what each item was
for and it almost always gave me a thought about how to use it.
The downside to Mechanic Master 2 is we are destroying these alien
creatures with various things. It can be difficult to describe these
things because some are lasers, others are rockets, balloons, fans, etc.
The good side is learning how they function, and affect the environments
around them. I hope this franchise continues because I loved learning
how to use things. It made me feel like a scientist.
