Madelines Great Adventures

Join little Madeline, her loyal canine companion Genevieve, puckish next-door neighbor Pepito and her 11 delightful classmates from Miss Clavel's Parisian school as they encounter their very own Arabian lamp, a visit from the Prince of Monaco, a band of pirates and even track down 40 charitable thieves.

Madeline is the creation of Ludwig Bemelmans - making her debut in 1939. The spunky and beloved Madeline character has spawned toys, games, dolls, and even a motion picture. Madeline's Great Adventures is distributed by Shout! Factory, which distributes movies and TV series, such as animated and classic shows.

In Madeline's Great Adventures, you go on six exciting adventures with Madeline and her friends, including Madeline and the Magic Carpet, Madeline on Safari and more. In total, the DVD contains approximately 132 minutes. The DVD does not contain any special features or options on the DVD Menu other than Play All and an Episode list.

The Madeline theme song plays while on the menu screen. The songs and voice talent are perfect for this type of animated series. Each character has their own personality come to life on the screen and they feel real and authentic. The animation is not my favorite, but it does help in presenting the personalities of the different characters.

There are various topics that can be discussed when watching Madeline’s Great Adventures such as sharing, friendship, helping others, telling the turth and much more. Parents should note there is some discussion and presentation of magic, but this can also be discussed with children.

Madeline’s Great Adventures can be entertaining and thought provoking episodes for younger viewers. It would be recommended, as with any TV series, that parents watch the episodes with their children the first time through to discuss relevant topics and answer any questions. Early elementary aged children will find Madeline’s Great Adventures very enjoyable and will want to watch them many times.
