Just Dance

I was at Nintendo's E3 conference this year (2010), and saw the announcement of Just Dance 2. I checked our records and realized Family Friendly Gaming had not reviewed Just Dance as of yet. So I made contact with Ubisoft, and they were gracious enough to send us a reviewable copy of the game. After playing Just Dance I am really glad I reached out.

Just Dance is alive with vibrant colors. I really enjoyed seeing the various attire of the dancers. The dog suit in one specific song brought a lot of comments here at Family Friendly Gaming. There is a lot of diversity in the moves of the dancers as well. Certain motions by the dancers can be considered sexual in nature.

There are over thirty well known songs in Just Dance. I really appreciate how many of them are very friendly for families. Some of my favorites are: "I Get Around," "I Like to Move It," "Kids in America," and "U Can't Touch This." Some of the songs in Just Dance have lyric issues. I would advise parents to go through the song list and decide for themselves.

Four family members can dance together in Just Dance. There are various degrees of difficulty and some will burn more calories than others. Just Dance is the most fun and entertaining exercise kind of game I have ever played. The songs in Just Dance are a good mix from various eras of music. I feel that Just Dance is worth the price of admission.

The controls in Just Dance are fantastic. Dancers will follow a certain pattern, which makes pattern recognition one of the skills very important to this game. The special effect visuals that are shown when the player is stringing together accurate moves. I had a lot of fun playing Just Dance, as did everyone who played it with me.

Players hold one Wii Remote in their right hand. So the right hand motions are the only thing that are judged. So family members can avoid gyrations that they are not comfortable with. Just Dance teaches quite a few different dance moves as well as rhythm. The best thing about Just Dance is the calories that are burned while playing. I am keeping my eyes on the sequel.
