Yolanda brought the Jig A Pix franchise to my attention and wanted
Family Friendly Gaming to get reviewable copies. So I put in the
request. Destineer came through with three different versions of the
game. Thus I am writing one of the reviews. I thought Jig A Pix
Wonderful World would be gimmicky, and maybe all my years as a gamer has
gotten me cynical. This Nintendo DS game that has a fantastic DSi
feature is exceptional. You put together puzzles, and the Nintendo
DS/DSi is the perfect hand held for a game like this.
The photo realistic pictures in Jig A Pix Wonderful World are absolutely
awesome. There are pictures from all over the world, and getting to put
them together is so cool. If you have ever done jigsaw puzzles then you
know what to expect as well as the euphoria once it is completely done.
Children really get into Jig A Pix Wonderful World, and can learn about
various images from different countries.
Jig A Pix Wonderful World has some neat sounds that fit the theme of
this game. I found the mellow music to be relaxing, and it added a layer
to this Nintendo DS video game. I did not hear any offensive sounds
while playing Jig A Pix Wonderful World. The special effect sounds are
great, and assist the player in knowing when they have fit a piece in
the right spot.
There are 80 images in Jig A Pix Wonderful World that can be played in
various puzzle forms. You can pick from 12 pieces up to 48 pieces.
Destineer also included some fantastic different modes to Jig A Pix
Wonderful World. There is a free form mode, timed, shapes, and rotation.
The level of customization is fantastic, and you will spend a lot of
hours playing this game. I can not get enough of Jig A Pix Wonderful
World personally.
In the previous paragraph I mentioned the various ways Jig A Pix
Wonderful World can be played. Those features allow this game to be
accessible to all ages. Our five year old got into 12 and 15 piece
puzzles while our eight year old got into the 24 piece puzzles. I got
into the 48 piece puzzles. Ghost images, as well as the puzzle piece
outlines are additional options that gamers can turn on or off while
playing Jig A Pix Wonderful World.
Our family has quite a few jigsaw puzzles in our house. Our children
love to do them, and we enjoy assisting them as a way of spending time.
Jig A Pix Wonderful World teaches matching size, shape, and picture.
These skills are very useful in life. I really appreciate Destineer for
bringing Jig A Pix Wonderful World to the gaming public. This is an
amazing game, and I would love to see sequels to it.
