JamParty Be the Music
SCORE: 75
Family Friendly Gaming was granted a reviewable copy of JamParty Be
the Music on the Personal Computer (PC). This music game claims to be
"The Next Generation Music Game." That is quite a lofty claim that the
WMG does not see. Rock Band 3 is bringing the keyboard into the mix.
There is already multiple kinds of guitars, drums, microphones and more.
JamParty Be the Music has more in common with DJ Hero in this reviewers
opinion.
Graphically there are some cool things going on in JamParty Be the
Music. The instruments pick themselves up and move around. They animate
nicely, and the camera likes to swing back and forth. Which would have
been okay except for one small problem. There is almost always this
white light that completely blinds the player in certain spots. The
camera does move to different locations giving some much needed
diversity. The concern the WMG has is the levels start to feel formulaic
after a few levels.
The music ranges in JamParty Be the Music. Some of the songs are
fantastic whereas others did not resonate with this reviewer. Players
get to add different instruments to the songs. The main issue this
reviewer has is no matter what changes were done the song started
sounding the same. The WMG did not find any offensive language while
playing JamParty Be the Music.
JamParty Be the Music has a fair amount of unlockable content. This is
different clubs, songs, and areas. The WMG did not feel the addictive
nature in JamParty Be the Music, like there is in other music games.
JamParty Be the Music can be purchased online for under ten dollars. It
is a different kind of PC game that will hit the extreme music gamer.
There are various ways to control JamParty Be the Music. It is really
cool that players can experiment with music thanks to this Personal
Computer video game. The WMG has to admit that JamParty Be the Music did
not strike the right chord with this reviewer. The various changes to
the songs did not feel that different. After experimenting here and
there this reviewer did not get it. Maybe you will.
There is nothing morally or ethically offensive in JamParty Be the
Music. Players can play around with different songs, and save their
performances. The saved performances can be enjoyed later. Anyone who is
deeply into music should take a peek at JamParty Be the Music. This
reviewer likes the concept, but feels JamParty Be the Music does not
live up to the hype.
