I Spy Universe

We were very excited here at Family Friendly Gaming when we found out about I Spy Universe. We were even more excited when we found out that Scholastic was publishing this Nintendo DS title. Players go on a quest in this hand held title to re-ignite the sun. Your rocket is the only thing that can save it. So you must solve puzzles to earn fuel to get to the sun. I Spy Universe does an awesome job of shaking up the gameplay. There are plenty of I Spy puzzles, but there are a lot of interesting mini games that keep it fresh.

There are a lot of different pictures in I Spy Universe. The more I studied them the more impressed I became. There are bright colors, dark colors, shadows, and more in I Spy Universe for the Nintendo DS. Out of all the images I studied in I Spy Universe, I did not find any offensive images. I saw a wide array of animals, and objects that I would not normally see. I Spy Universe has players match certain items based on colors so that can be used as a learning experience as well.

The background music in I Spy Universe is relaxing, pleasant, and made me feel good. Then I would find specific items on the screen, and those special effect sounds woke me up. Some of the special effect sounds are good, and others made me cringe. None of them are offensive, just not pleasant sounds. I must say there is a lot of diversity in these sounds. The voice instructions are fantastic, and open this Nintendo DS game up to a younger audience.

Scholastic must have read my review for I Spy Fun House because I Spy Universe is vastly improved in the replay department. There are a lot more maps, and fun mini games to play. Only one player can play I Spy Universe at a time. There are no multiplayer modes. I feel that I Spy Universe is worth the price of admission.

I Spy Universe is an approachable and easy game for children to play. The downside to that is there is no consequences for pressing all over the screen. There are also hints which help when you get stuck. I got the point that I would get all but one, and then use a hint to finish it off. I never ran out of hints so that is another aspect of I Spy Universe that players need to be on their honor.

It was my personal joy and pleasure to be able to play and review I Spy Universe. Family Friendly Gaming is very blessed to receive a reviewable copy of this hand held gem. Players can learn to pay attention to detail, listen to instructions, read instructions and look for specific objects on the screen. Parents can leave children with I Spy Universe because it is safe. I hope to see sequels to this franchise in the near future. I am very pleased to see this sequel released.
