Heathcliff Frantic Foto

Storm City Games brings some really cool game ideas to families. I remember our fearless leader told me about a Heathcliff was announced many months ago. I was intrigued because I remember the cartoon from when I was a child. I did not realize they were mixing Heathcliff with their Foto franchise. Heathcliff Frantic Foto is a Nintendo DS game where players must find the differences on the two screens. Rotate the DS around so it is on its side. Before left handed people freak out, they took that into consideration and you tell the game which way you want it.

Graphically there are color pictures, and black and white pictures. I liked the color ones a lot more. In fact it took me a few attempts to get used to doing this kind of a game in black and white. Those screens can be a lot harder to find the differences. Heathcliff was not known for his gracious acts of kindness, so expect some pictures where he is doing things to get yelled at. Heathcliff Frantic Foto also contains some tobacco.

The music in Heathcliff Frantic Foto is upbeat. I had to be careful with the happy music because the timer would expire and I had not found the five differences. The tutorial for Heathcliff Frantic Foto is mainly visual, but I recommend all of our readers go through it. Learning to hit the 'L' or 'R' button to see the menu screen while comparing pictures is an invaluable piece of information.

Heathcliff Frantic Foto includes over 120 pictures. Each picture includes multiple variations. That means there can be different differences on the same picture. Fail a picture and you will see what I mean. Heathcliff Frantic Foto also includes a multicard download for up to two players. If you get through all of that, then there is a drawing mode where you can color pictures.

The most irritating thing about Heathcliff Frantic Foto is the hints. It highlights different areas of the screen that might have variances. More often than not there was nothing different there. Touching them will produce a red 'X'. Too many of those and you lose the level. You can trust me on this, I did it multiple times. With that said I had fun playing Heathcliff Frantic Foto.

Heathcliff Frantic Foto is safe for the family. I was not bothered by the two descriptors the ESRB noted. I expected both from Heathcliff. Storm City Games has combined two interesting things to make a fun product. Family Friendly Gaming was given a reviewable copy of Heathcliff Frantic Foto for the Nintendo DS. I hope to see sequels to this franchise in the future.
