Game & Watch Collection was an interesting idea. Join Club Nintendo, register Nintendo products, and fill out a survey about it. This grants you so many points, and those points can be used to purchase exclusive Nintendo merchandise. Last year we got the original game, and this year we have built up enough points to get Game & Watch Collection 2. The three electronic games in this compilation are Parachute, Octopus, and Parachute and Octopus. This hand held video game costs 800 Club Nintendo coins.

Game & Watch Collection 2 adds a few more colors than the original. Compared to other Nintendo DS games, this one is lacking in details, animation, and colors. I have to keep in mind that Game & Watch Collection 2 is a port of a very old electronic device. Sharks will chase after those who parachute into the water, and the octopus will grab and hold divers that get in its grasp.

The bleeps and blops of Game & Watch Collection 2 wound up annoying me rather quickly. I fought through my irritation to continue playing this Nintendo DS video game. Thankfully there was no offensive language in Game & Watch Collection 2.

If you want to get the high score then you will find a lot of replay value in Game & Watch Collection 2. I am not the kind of a person who wants to replay the same thing trying to score higher points. I was also disappointed that there only three games in this collection. What disappointed me even more is one of the three games is a merger of the other two. I am also not sure that this game is worth the price of admission.

Game & Watch Collection 2 has very simple controls - the D-pad. Move your character around the screen to catch those parachuting, or get treasure and come back. The Octopus game is more advanced than the Parachute game, and definitely more fun. It would have been nice if there had been some better games in this collection. I also did not find myself interested in replaying this game after writing the review.

I applaud Nintendo for continuing to provide products for those faithful to purchasing their products. Game & Watch Collection 2 is an interesting piece of video game history. Something that bothers me is Nintendo has released a DSi Ware version of Game & Watch Game Collection. For 200 DSi points you can get more electronic games. None of them are the same, but still.
