Fantage

I have never gotten into online games. Our kids have tried a few that are age appropriate and it has kept their attention for a season or two. When my hubby asked me to check out Fantage, I was not the most enthusiastic participant. My kids on the other hand were interested in the cute characters, along with the bright colors. Fantage is a social destination for children starting at the age of six. For those families that let their children play online games, and are looking for safe ones.

Over six million users have been attracted by the bright colors, and family friendly graphics. I had the PR firm set me up with a female character so I could make sure the attire choices were appropriate. The good news is they are. Players can also get pets and play with them in a certain area. By play with them, I mean you get to be that animal. The animations in Fantage are light, and a little jumpy. The foundation in Flash may have something to do with it.

The music in Fantage is fresh and fun. All ages here at Family Friendly Gaming got into the music of this online game for children. I so enjoy safe chat features, and Fantage has that in abundance. That way your children are not giving out any personal information, nor are they reading anything in-appropriate.

There are twenty five different games and adventures in Fantage. Players can decorate their homes in a variety of ways using in game currency. Fantage has a variety of areas to explore. As far as longevity goes, my kids were not asking to replay this game as they have with other online children games. They loved playing with the pets, and enjoyed getting invited to parties. After awhile though they were done, and working on a puzzle or playing with toys.

How could you fail the game play? I know that is one of the things that is going to immediately be asked of me. The answer to that question is two words - loading screens. Fantage is loading screens all the time. This really breaks up the game play, and is one of the reasons I believe children get bored with this game. In fact my oldest son complained to me about it quite a bit. The mini games inside Fantage are fun.

Fantage is one of those online games that we put through the wringer. We found this online game to be safe for the entire family. Older gamers may not find a lot to do, but it is the kind of an online game that will interest children. I really like how Fantage focuses on the needs and concerns of parents. Too many game developers ignore this. I would like to see sequels especially if the loading screens can be scaled back.
