Family Party Fitness Fun
SCORE: 82
The Family Party franchise is hot! I can barely believe there have
been so many of them. Since everyone else at Family Friendly Gaming
needed a little lie down from all the other exercise video games they
have been playing, I got to play Family Party Fitness Fun on the Wii. I
was ready for an intense exercise experience with thirty different games
to play. There is some exercise in Family Party Fitness Fun, but nowhere
near The Biggest Loser, or EA Sports Active 2. You know its also not
quite to the level of Wii Fit.
The graphics continue the Family Party style. The characters are
generally friendly, and span across generations. All of the starting
characters dress appropriately. I won almost every single game in Family
Party Fitness Fun, and still did not wind up unlocking additional
characters. I am not sure what the formula is for this Wii game. The
animation works well for each of the games. There is a game in Family
Party Fitness Fun where you walk across a bridge and the other three
characters shoot balls at you. Yeah it reminded me of MXC too. That is
about as violent as this game gets. Of course you rotate around, and get
to do some of the firing too.
I love the celebration sounds in Family Party Fitness Fun when I won a
game. It felt great to be at the top. The voice in Family Party Fitness
Fun is exceptional. It really stands out. Family Party Fitness Fun
includes written instructions on how to play the mini games. I found
this to be worthless. There is a tutorial mode where it shows better
what to do, and lets you practice. Now this was worthwhile.
There are some games in Family Party Fitness Fun I really enjoyed
playing, and some I could not stand. There can be some trial in error in
terms of figuring out the controls. Family Friendly Gaming was provided
a copy of this Wii game for this review. I checked the price tag and saw
this game is selling for under twenty dollars online. I feel that Family
Party Fitness Fun is worth the price.
The game play in Family Party Fitness Fun is a little more good than
bad. Some of the games are really easy to figure out. I totally
dominated in Dodge Ball. Other games took a few tries to figure out, and
still others I gave up on. I like how Family Party Fitness Fun lets me
pick from a variety of mini games to pick my own series. This is a nice
feature, since past Family Party games had blocks of games already
selected. Family Party Fitness Fun includes some diversity in terms of
the modes. Four family members can enjoy this Wii game, and the Balance
Board can be used as well.
I wish there had been a bit more fitness in Family Party Fitness Fun. I
did not break a sweat, need a water break, or get winded while playing
this home console video game. There are some cool games in Family Party
Fitness Fun, and a few I could have lived without. I like this
franchise, and hope it continues in the future. Especially if the
controls are tweaked in a few of the games. This franchise has had
control issues since its inception. All of the games need to be more
approachable by all members of the family. Okay I will get off my soap
box now.
