Two words have been with me for decades now. What are those two words? Survey Says! I watched Family Feud for decades whenever I was able to. I am not sure who these people are that they are surveying, but it is still a fun game show to watch. When I heard Family Friendly Gaming was getting Family Feud Decades from our amazing awesome and fantastic friends over at Ubisoft (yes I am sucking up a little bit) I was all over it.
The whole decades part of Family Feud Decades is used to perfection. This Wii game has different clothes, stages, and character looks for each decade. This is a really cool thing to do for a game show because they change over time. Especially ones as old as Family Feud. Some of the female characters are wearing tight clothing, and it comes to a point in the chest region. My ever loving wife was kind enough to draw my attention to this feature. Husbands you have to be very careful in how you respond to something like that or you will get whacked upside the head. Some day hair may grow back on that side.
Please check out the descriptors from the ESRB. Family Feud Decades contains a lengthy amount of survey questions on a wide array of topics. Some of the answers as well as some of the questions are not for children. It would have been nice if there had been a safe mode for the younger members of the family. I know some other games have done that, and it was well received here at Family Friendly Gaming.
There are over two thousand surveys in Family Feud Decades. It might take some families a decade to get through all of them. There are four decades to play through, and different difficulty settings. Players can choose from an okay amount of avatars. Two players can go head to head in Family Feud Decades, unless your family likes to cooperate.
The core of the game play of Family Feud Decades is to type in the right answer(s). This Wii game is very kind in coming up with words as players start to type the first few letters. The only problem I ran into was time. There were occasions I thought of a better answer. There was not enough time to backspace and start over. So I had to go with something I knew was wrong. The difficulty on Family Feud Decades even on the easy settings can be high when only the top answer is up there. I really have no idea who these people are that they survey. Obviously not me when my first thoughts are not on the board.
There is a lot of different lessons in Family Feud Decades. I learned
about what other people thought of first when they are surveyed on all
kinds of things. I like the concept of bringing in decades to a game
show. Hearing: "survey says," was a real treat for me. I would love a
sequel especially if there is a new mode that allows this game to be
safe for all ages of the family.
