Dragonball Z Season 2

I promised I would be getting back to the Dragonball Z series, and writing this review is helping me keep that promise. Dragonball Z Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off. This package contains episodes 40 through 74 on six discs. Dragonball Z Season 2 contains the complete Namek, and Captain Ginyu sagas. There are some new villains like Frieza and the Ginyu Force. Vegeta returns and he is starting to be transformed into a good guy - of sorts. Most of this season takes place on the planet Namek. Which makes this series feel more sci-fi than superhero.

The fantastic artwork continues in Dragonball Z Season 2. Sadly so does the blood, and gore. There are some very disgusting images in Dragonball Z Season 2 that I would not want children subject to. Quite a few murders happen in season two. There are also some enticement to lust images that are not appropriate. Dragonball Z Season 2 continues a lot of fighting. Most of this season has characters that are way more powerful than the ones they are fighting. Wanton abuse of power occurs in this season repeatedly.

Characters are consistently insulting one another in Dragonball Z Season 2. These DVDs put a lot of basketball players to shame in terms of talking smack. I found myself becoming irritated with the consistent insults. The music is okay as it goes for a majestic feel. Characters are turning inward to get stronger and more powerful. They train to reach new levels. Dragonball Z Season 2 has a definite eastern martial arts feel to it.

There are 830 minutes of television in Dragonball Z Season 2. There are some bonuses here and there. The marathon feature is for those that want to watch all the episodes on a disc. I am really torn on this section because there is a lot of content, but much of the content is bad.

The menu screens exhibit an intelligent design, and are very easy to use. I had the same problem with the packaging in season 2 that I did with season 1. Those little pieces that hold the discs together break really easily. This is very frustrating for me. The storyline is better in Dragonball Z Season 2, and there is less offensive content in the storyline.

The biggest shock in Dragonball Z Season 2 is when one character swaps bodies with another. In essence he shifts his spirit to their body, and puts their spirit in his body. I appreciate how the good characters stand up to the evil ones. I am amazed that the bad guys are seeking power, and will stab one another in the back to receive it.
