Dragonball Z Attack of the Saiyans

Dragon Ball Z can be like Final Fantasy in terms of fanboys. Those that love the Dragon Ball Z series are very forgiving of bad games. Of course Final Fantasy has a few decent games under its belt. Dragon Ball Z is seen to have had a lot of average to below average video games. RPG Master had already played and reviewed Dragon Ball Z Attack of the Saiyans. I decided to do a second look review for a couple of reasons. One of those reasons is I saw something in this turn based role playing game. The player gets up to three Dragon Ball Z characters on the screen at a time. There are a total of six and they can be swapped in and out at any time. I have lost interest in role playing games over the years because of how boring leveling up can be. Dragon Ball Z Attack of the Saiyans has a great leveling up system that I actually enjoyed. Part of that is it is very easy to level up.

The graphics look really good on the battle screens. Characters run over and punch the enemy multiple times, or you can have them launch their powerful energy based attacks. The energy based one are like a souped up version of a fireball in Street Fighter games. The characters are super hero looking in terms of their muscles. I noticed a little blood and gore. It was few and far between though.

The music is really rocking in Dragon Ball Z Attack of the Saiyans. I was enjoying the various tracks that were put in this Nintendo DS video game. The afterlife is touched on in this game, and few Christians will be impressed with it. I did appreciate how light it was kept in this hand held video game. The E10+ rating in this game should be obeyed because of certain things that are said.

Dragon Ball Z Attack of the Saiyans has some really cool extras that will keep gamers coming back. There are plenty of secrets hidden throughout the game. Especially in the last chapter. Players can unlock some really cool things by collecting Dragon Balls and making a wish. There are content issues with Dragon Ball Z Attack of the Saiyans, however I feel money is well spent on this game.

As long as you level up in every new area for awhile you will be fine playing Dragon Ball Z Attack of the Saiyans. Leveling up is quick, and very rewarding. There are various ways to play this game, and various ways you can level up your characters. I had a lot of fun playing this game, and found the length to be perfect.

I found a lot of places to save which fit a hand held game perfectly. The main theme is training hard to save the earth from evil aliens. Characters help one another out and work as a team. Good characters are against wanton destruction whereas evil characters have bad attitudes. I would like to see a sequel to this game in the near future.
