Dive The Medes Islands Secret

Family Friendly Gaming has been covering Dive The Medes Islands Secret since we first found out about it. The game looks absolutely beautiful, and has the player diving down looking for treasure. The mazes the player get to swim through are much more impressive than I was expecting. Dive The Medes Islands Secret is done in 2D, which is probably why it looks so great. The more treasure the player finds the quicker they can upgrade their equipment.

I was in awe of the graphics in Dive The Medes Islands Secret as I poured over screenshots. As I started playing Dive The Medes Islands Secret I marveled at the graphics, and then became completely used to them after a few levels. There are various aquatic animals in Dive The Medes Islands Secret. The farther I progressed in this game the more there were. Dive The Medes Islands Secret allows gamers to shoot these animals in order to progress. There is a limited amount of ammo, and also a limited amount of refills in the levels. Getting hit turns the outsides of the screen red, and takes away oxygen.

The water special effect sounds in Dive The Medes Islands Secret fit it perfectly. I was not expecting a lot from the music in this downloadable Wii game, but was very pleasantly surprised. Dive The Medes Islands Secret has some great music that enhanced the game in numerous ways. I enjoyed swimming around and exploring the levels. The last time I remember an underwater game that I felt the same way was Ecco the Dolphin.

I really like how the dollar value of the treasures found are used to purchased better equipment. This gave me better light, more harpoons, faster speed, and an ability to dive deeper. Dive The Medes Islands Secret sells for 1000 Wii points, and I feel it is worth the price of admission. For those that want to know Family Friendly Gaming was gifted a copy for this review. If we had not, I would have purchased this game myself.

I had a lot of fun playing Dive The Medes Islands Secret. I find it to be safe enough for my own children to play. The controls are generally really good. I love how easy it is to turn around, which is needed due to the level design. The down side is animals can attack you, and be right on top of your diver. When this happens hitting them is impossible. This was frustrating, and had me retreating. Dive The Medes Islands Secret requires players to plan what they are going to do when encountering animals. Thankfully I found I could flee many times, and avoid the animals. Having to hold the 'B' button down while swimming in long levels did get tedious.

The map and the radar were a tremendous amount of help in getting to the treasures in Dive The Medes Islands Secret. I learned to avoid predators, and other dangerous creatures in the ocean. Dive The Medes Islands Secret also taught me to have a steady hand, and pay attention to my environments. I am very impressed with this WiiWare game, and hope to see sequels from Cosmonaut Games in the near future.
