Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black

Some friends of mine know I enjoy sci-fi, so they told me to check out The Chronicles of Riddick. I have finished the first movie Pitch Black, and feel it is my civic duty to write a review about this movie. Hollywood has gone full bore in this film to try and get everything absolutely and completely backwards. The tagline for this film is to fight evil with evil. Vin Diesel plays a recently re-captured convict. He is the person the crash survivors put their faith in. The law enforcement officer is shown to be a drug addict and a bounty hunter. The lady pretending to be the captain is actually a pilot who tried to kill all the passengers. There is a Muslim character in The Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black who is portrayed as cheesy, and having his faith disproven at every opportunity.

The Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black is disgusting visually. These nocturnal creatures rip humans to shreds. The director left little to the imagination as viewers are exposed to horrors over and over again. There is a short scene with a little enticement to lust as well. This is the kind of movie that gives people nightmares. I thought this was supposed to be sci-fi, not horror.

The language in The Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black is horrible. Constant profanities by almost every character drenches the script. In fact I was happy to have dialogue over because it meant no more profanity. There are no role models in this movie, which leaves the viewer depressed with how selfish these characters are. One positive I thought of after watching The Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black is without God this is how people act. The movie does not teach that, but I got that in prayer before writing this review.

The Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black has a few extras that can be of interest. The problem is the same horrible content is included in this area as well. The bounty hunters log is a perfect example. Profanity in every single log entry. Do not waste your money on this film.

The menu screens are odd, but I was able to navigate through them. The storyline makes little to no sense to me. Characters are killed off in strange ways. Other times they make it through safely going against the grain of everything the movie has told the viewer. I felt like throwing up after watching The Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black. I had no fun watching this film at all.

I can see no reason for almost everything in The Chronicles of Riddick Pitch Black. The consistent profanity, and gruesome images in no way improve our lives. In fact they can damage us mentally. The repugnant moral and ethical content in this movie makes it highly offensive. I know there are two more movies in this trilogy. Sequels to this kind of a film are not needed. There is no logical reason to have such sewage on our television screens.
