Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian

Chronicles of Narnia came in like a lion, and continues on with Prince Caspian. The four children get back to Narnia, and help out a prince. They also help out the inhabitants of Narnia who have been hunted for a great many years. This movie does a very good job of following the critically acclaimed C.S. Lewis novel. Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian has less awe, and more battles than the original movie. If I have one complaint against this movie is it does not try to capture the magical mystery of Narnia. The talking mice are the saving grace though.

Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian has many of the same characters who have only aged slightly. Well that is the four children from our world. The time difference means a whole lot more time has passed in Narnia. The talking animals look realistic, but they do not play as large of a role in this movie. There is blood and violence in this movie, but thankfully no gore. Flying boulders, arrows, and sword fights could have been worse. The violence is still a part of this film.

The music in Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian is really good, and carries this movie through in some very majestic parts. The characters are a lot more respectful to one another this time around. Edmond has even learned from the past movie. Aslan makes an appearance, but I wanted so much more of the Christ figure.

I was not happy with the extras on the DVD of Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian. There is audio commentary, and previews. I really was hoping for a lot more. Most movies contain more than this, so I feel like Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian is lacking in this department.

The menu screens function as I wanted, and I had no troubles there. Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian tells a story of good conquering evil, and how deceit should not be tolerated. There are so many lives lost in the futile wars, and that can also be gleaned from this Disney movie.

Unfortunately evil will never negotiate no matter how many concessions we make, or how nice we try to be to it. Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian teaches this, along with the cost of freedom. I really wish Aslan would have come to them sooner.
