Christmas Tripeaks is an excellent app in the realm of card games.
Think of Solitaire but with a twist. The player has a pile of cards, and
one that is turned up. The bulk of the cards are out there in a
Christmas related shape. The cards that are turned up need to be played
before the ones underneath can be turned over. How does one play cards?
By being one above or below the turned up card the player has. This
means you can play three, four, three, four, five, four, three, two in
one string. Are you getting it? I hope so.
The background graphics in Christmas Tripeaks are amazing, awe
inspiring, and beautiful. I would admire them while the cards were being
put out. Then I would marvel at the candy cane shape, or some other
recognizable shape. Hippo Mobile Solutions put a lot of thought into
this aspect of the game, and it shows. The decks of cards also have
diversity which is a nice touch.
The music is decent in Christmas Tripeaks. I must admit I was more
interested in the game play, and the music was an aspect of this app I
did not dwell on for very long. With that said it did not offend or
bother me, so it was exactly what I wanted it to be. On the flip side it
did not stick out in an ultra positive way either.
Every time we review a game here at Family Friendly Gaming we ask
important questions. One of those questions is - "would I spend the
price being asked for this experience?" I checked the iTunes page and it
lists Christmas Tripeaks at 1.99. Personally I would say Christmas
Tripeaks is a good deal at ninety-nine cents. There are thirty one
levels. Now they can be replayed, but after beating each of the levels I
really had little interest in replaying them. You can make your own
decision, I just give my opinion.
Does the concept of this game confuse you? Don't worry about it. There
is a help option in Christmas Tripeaks which can help anyone learn how
to play this festive card game. The cards are randomly generated so some
games are easier to defeat than others. I had a real blast playing
Christmas Tripeaks. My one complaint has already been referenced - it is
too short.
Do you know what Christmas Tripeaks is? It is a card game with no
gambling. Which is something we completely support here at Family
Friendly Gaming. I love the concept of this app, and hope there are
sequels in the future. I wonder if this game could be ported to the
Nintendo DSi. The graphics might be too intense though. I will be
telling friends and family about Christmas Tripeaks. The level of
creativity is amazing in Christmas Tripeaks.
