Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride

The Wii version of Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride is much better than the Nintendo DS version. But it is not going to give Gran Turismo 5 a run for its money. But that is okay because Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride is a different kind of a game. This Wii game is more for the casual gamer who wants to do some racing. Players get to pick which Chevrolet Camaro they want, and go out there and perform on four different kinds of racing activities. There are races, timed races, hitting cones, and reaching a certain speed.

There are high and low points to the graphics in Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride on the Wii. Some of the backdrops look amazing. The cars look good in Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride, but I was honestly hoping for some additional details. I noticed some neat aspects to the graphics in Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride. One race track starts in the rain, moves to snow, and then to normal weather. I really appreciated that.

The music in Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride caught my ear, as we used to say back in the day. I enjoyed listening to it, and it helped with the ambiance of this Wii title. The special effect sounds are also pleasing to the ears. I did not mind scraping the side of a level, which I did over and over again. I found no offensive sounds or language in Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride for the Wii.

Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride includes three different modes, and different challenges among them. There are twelve cars to race with, and nine race tracks on three continents. The race tracks are larger on the Wii than they are on the Nintendo DS. This helps this game in my opinion. Only one player can enjoy Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride at a time, so that is a bit of a let down for families.

The controls in Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride for the Wii are also very touchy. Storm City Games actually did something very cool to help with that. The car corrects almost every time. I spent half of one lap on two wheels because I kept hitting the walls too hard. The game kept me going and I lost little speed. I was able to adapt to most turns and learn how to use the controls to my advantage. With that said, a loss of concentration sent me into a wall. This was annoying, but since I did not lose much speed it was not a big deal.

Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride comes at an interesting time in America. Emotions are starting to settle down considering GM and their government bailout. So seeing that GM licensed this product will not bother as many people as it would have say a year ago. The different challenges offer different lessons. I found an incentive to race clean in Chevrolet Camaro Wild Ride, and to avoid bumping other cars. A sequel would be welcome, especially if the controls are tweaked.
