Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition

Disney was gracious enough to provide Family Friendly Gaming with a reviewable copy of Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition. This package contains three discs. There is a DVD, and two Blu-ray discs. One of the Blu-ray discs is bonuses. There are numerous Beauty and the Beast stories out there, and the one Disney went with contained the change of the Beasts heart, along with love. Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition does a fantastic job of making us feel like guests.

The visuals are at the Disney quality of animation. There are darker areas, and some violent scenes. The Beast can be scary, and children will jump at certain parts of the movie. Who am I kidding? Adults can jump as well. A few female characters are wearing dresses exposing some cleavage. The Beast fights off wolves, and gets stabbed in the back at one point. Yes I literally mean that. There are also some very bright spots in Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition, and how so many inanimate objects were animated is amazing.

I had forgotten how many songs are in Beauty and the Beast. Diamond Edition contains them all, and they work well for this movie. Dialogue, and story points are relayed through the songs. There are quite a few memorable songs in Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition. The voice acting in Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition is top notch, and there are some extremely well known actors/actresses in this animated film.

Disney really has me spoiled. Thanks to all the extras in their products I expect it from every Blu-ray/DVD we review. Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition contains a never before seen deleted scene, alternate opening, music video, broadway beginnings, three versions of the movie, audio commentary, and much more. My personal favorite is Beyond Beauty The Untold Stories. I love to hear about the people involved with the film, and how they made it. Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition will keep you busy for a long time with all of its bonus content.

The menu screens work marvelously. I appreciated how I can select a bonus from disc one, and it requests I put in disc two. The story in Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition is about being selfless. Sometimes we have to let go of what we love in order to have it truly be ours. I enjoyed watching Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition. I am happy to see Disney giving their movies this kind of treatment.

There are some topics in Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition that you will need to discuss with your children. Things like curses, living for oneself, being conceited, and anger. Anger is one of those issues that you may or may not have in your family, but this film really exposes the problems with it. I found that my children wanted to know if wolves attacked like that, and if French people had that kind of an accent. One of the greatest things about Beauty and the Beast Diamond Edition is how Belle is so interested in reading. This is a point I made with my own children. It was a life learning opportunity for them.
