Battlestar Galactica 3.0
SCORE: 61
At times I can see why Battlestar Galactica is so popular, and other times I wonder what the rest of the world sees in this show. Battlestar Galactica 3.0 picks up where the last one left off. The Cylons occupy New Caprica, and humanity is trying to find a way to save the bulk of their population. The season grows from there as they wind up back in space being chased by their creation. More mysteries unravel, and the presidency changes hands back to Laura Roslin. Season three ends with Baltar’s trial, and the revelation of four more cylons.
There is still blood and gore images in Battlestar Galactica 3.0. War images are harsh on New Caprica. There are also images of enticement to lust, drugs, and alcohol. Various characters are killed off in Battlestar Galactica 3.0. The Cylons of course get to come back over and over again thanks to their resurrection ship. Battlestar Galactica 3.0 has some nice special effects especially in terms of space flight.
The language in Battlestar Galactica 3.0 really drained me. I understand there are a lot of intense situations on this show, however some characters should have some control. Characters are cynical towards God, and others believe in many gods. The music in Battlestar Galactica 3.0 really sets the high energy mood for most of the shows. There are some retrospective episodes where the tone is more subdued.
The six disc DVD set has specific bonus features that will interest hardcore fans. The extended episode was my personal favorite. There is also deleted scenes, podcasts, commentary, video blogs, and webisodes. Some of these can be rough so watch with caution.
The menu screens are easy to navigate through. A few of them are a little too cluttered for my tastes. I also noticed that some discs had more screens than are really needed. Battlestar Galactica 3.0 tells an interesting fantasy story where Earth is the main goal. Of course they could be bringing a great destruction to our planet as well.
Battlestar Galactica 3.0
has quite a few moral situations and this show loves to preach. A war
criminal is found guilty because we are all guilty. Interesting lesson
there. If we did that, then there would be a lot more rapes, and murders
because we could not imprison those people. Authority figures routinely
make mistakes and abuse their power. Even though I have had personal
experiences with authority figures abusing their power I can not let
myself become cynical of all authority figures.
