Aqua Pearls

Aqua Pearls is a puzzle game where you launch a marble/pearl/orb shaped thing towards a line of them that are slowing rolling from point A to point B. The players job is to match three or more before the line makes it. Once they match, they go away, and the line recedes a bit. The quicker the player can match them up, the better chance of completing the level. This style of game is nothing new, but that is okay.

Aqua Pearls has an oceanic look, sound, and feel to it. Players take on the role of a cute looking little creature that is out to save the seas. How is this done? Well by putting the magic pearl necklace back together. This necklace is what protected the seas from evil. So players match the pearls throughout forty levels in order to set things right.

The first thing I noticed about the graphics in Aqua Pearls is how small they are. Yes I sound like I am using the well known phrase from House Hunters. But that was my first impression. The colors are exceptional in Aqua Pearls, and the watery theme is masterfully done. The cute character that launches the pearls is a great mascot. I hope he continues on in the video game industry for years to come.

The music in Aqua Pearls is really good. It fits the theme of the game, and actually enhances it. I found myself smiling while I listened to the rather soft sounds in Aqua Pearls. The special effect sounds notified me immediately of important information like when I scored a combination. I did not find any offensive sounds while playing Aqua Pearls on the iPhone/iPod Touch.

Aqua Pearls contains forty levels, four different modes, and three difficulty settings. That may not seem like a lot, but for three dollars its actually a bargain. I can see Aqua Pearls being ported over to other platforms quite easily. Family Friendly Gaming was given a reviewable copy of Aqua Pearls. With that said, I do feel Aqua Pearls is worth the money. Aqua Pearls is a game that is solid from top to bottom.

The true marvel of this app is how well it controls. I found myself touching exactly where I wanted a pearl to go, and it quickly made it. Aqua Pearls excels in terms of controls. G5 Entertainment has done a fantastic job with this game, especially in setting an atmosphere and mood. I really enjoyed playing Aqua Pearls. There is not a lot of originality in terms of the paths the pearls take. But I have been exposed to numerous games in this genre.

Aqua Pearls teaches matching colors, building combinations, and recognition skills. It was my personal pleasure to be able to play and review on Aqua Pearls for the iPhone/iPod Touch. I hope to see sequels to this game in the near future. I also think this game would be great on the Nintendo DS, or maybe the 3DS. Aqua Pearls is safe for the entire family to play. I will be recommending Aqua Pearls to family and friends.
