Zack and Wiki Quest for Barbaros Treasure
SCORE: 64
If you read my preview then you already have some insight into Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure. Players get to role play with a greedy pirate trying to get treasure. Half of the time the main character seems bored with whatever is transpiring around him. The main mechanic of play is the puzzle element. Players must solve visual puzzles, and quite often use the Wii Remote in fascinating ways (i.e. turning a key). A little flying monkey is there to assist the player in this Wii video game from Capcom.
Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure includes a lot of soft colors, with much of the game being bright. There are plenty of dark levels where the lack of detail can be hidden much better. The spiritual images are present all around this Capcom video game. There is plenty of cartoon violence, and cartoon deaths. The player can restart puzzles after the cartoon death. Expect be restart puzzles a lot in this game.
Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure has some of the most irritating sounds I have ever heard in a Wii video game. Want a real shocker? The ESRB missed the bad language included in Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure. There is also language that is pro occult in this home console puzzle video game. Other major media outlets may miss key aspects like that, but not here at Family Friendly Gaming.
The main replay aspect to Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure is the multiple attempts to solve each and every single puzzle. Capcom tweaked the difficulty so high that few outside of the obsessive compulsive niche crowd will enjoy this Nintendo Wii video game. Even though this game can be found in the bargain bins, I recommend you leave it there. Save your money for a good game.
The difficulty level I mentioned in the last paragraph is the real deal killer for Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure. The controls do not always make logical sense, and that also hurts this Wii game. I really hoped my worldly friends had been right for once, but their poor recommendation stats speak for themselves. I found no fun in Zack & Wiki Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure at all - only frustration.
Zack & Wiki Quest for
Barbaros’ Treasure makes the video game industry look bad. The lessons
are greed, new age religious indoctrination, and puzzle solving. One of
out of three is not enough to save this Wii game from being a failure.
Please no more sequels to this franchise Capcom.
