Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009
SCORE: 71
Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009 is a
Nintendo DS card battling game based on the animated series. There is
more card battling in this version than the Wii video game. Duelists get
to use 2,800 different cards, which means a lot of strategy. Yu-Gi-Oh
fans will eat up the card battling without having to keep that many
cards.
The graphics in Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Stardust Accelerator World Championship
2009 are plain ugly to this reviewers eye. The cards can be difficult to
see, especially on the bottom screen. The violence is mainly cards
shattering. There are a few female cards that will raise an eye brow or
two in most mature families.
Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009 has a pretty
generic storyline. The main hero has no memory, but gains some after
card battling. Thus the past of the hero is slowly revealed as the
player progresses through the game. The WMG was surprised to see text
referring to gods in this Nintendo DS video game.
Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009 contains
2,800 cards digitally represented which will geek out most Yu-Gi-Oh
fans. Konami did not stop there though. They also included three special
edition Trading Cards. If that were not enough there are multi-player
modes as long as both players own the game cartridge. Finally there are
two single player modes.
Family Friendly Gaming has always been bold in the belief that hand held
video games should be easy to pick up, play, and put down. Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's
Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009 has some lengthy card
battles that do not embrace just a few minutes of playing. Saves are in
specific places as well. Newbies to Yu-Gi-Oh can expect to lose a few
matches before learning what to do. The WMG wishes this game eased new
players into the card battling portion of the game.
Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Stardust Accelerator World Championship 2009 is mainly
about the competition. There is an underlying storyline of becoming
famous through the battling. Those that lust after fame will appreciate
this kind of a storyline. The WMG sees this as a game that only appeals
to the Yu-Gi-Oh fan base, but maybe fans of the animated series will
check it out as well.
