Wizards of Waverly Place Supernaturally Stylin
SCORE: 74
Wizards of Waverly Place Supernaturally Stylin' is coming out on DVD. Family Friendly Gaming has receive a copy of this DVD before it reaches stores. I had to do a lot of consulting with different age groups (my niece mainly) to get an understanding of some of the humor. This family is learning wizardry and whatever supernatural lesson they are learning are used in that episode (editor: at least on this disc). The family unit is non-conventional as the teenagers tell the parents what to do in many cases. Werewolves, and centaurs are some of the special guests in episodes on this DVD.
Wizards of Waverly Place Supernaturally Stylin' has some well known television locations like school, and a place of business. The only character that I would question the attire of is the mother character. She likes to show a lot of cleavage in most of her outfits. The teenage characters wear some strange outfits in my opinion, but nothing offensive.
Wizards of Waverly Place Supernaturally Stylin' has a real catchy opening scene song that is still stuck in my head. I was a little disappointed to hear a parent telling a child to lie to them about how uncool they are. The deception in the werewolf episode shows what kind of trouble people can get into when they are not completely honest. The family structure where the parents do not seem to be in control makes this one weird television show.
The special features of Wizards of Waverly Place Supernaturally Stylin' is interesting behind the scenes information. The entire peace symbol hidden in different scenes (editor: a form of Where's Waldo) was the most fascinating to me. There are only four episodes, and then limited special features. Disney normally puts a lot more special features. Oh I almost forgot there are some previews of upcoming Disney products as well.
The menu screens in Wizards of Waverly Place Supernaturally Stylin' exhibit an intelligent design. I found each and every one of them simple to navigate, and the little special effects on these menu screens fit the theme of wizards perfectly. I am curious to the source of their magical power, and why this family is that way.
Wizards of Waverly Place Supernaturally Stylin' has some humor in it,
and other times I felt siblings were being mean to one another. Messages
of tolerance to those different than yourself can be found on this DVD.
In some ways this show felt like a mix between Saved by the Bell and
anything related to witches and warlocks.
