Wizards of Waverly Place

Wizards of Waverly Place on the Nintendo DS is based on the television show.  A family of wizards own a sub shop, learn spells, and help those around them. There are plenty of mini games to be played in Wizards of Waverly Place, and items to find. Players spent most of their time hunting around the various areas finding specific items to put things right. Magic may be easy to do in Wizards of Waverly Place, but it is not always done right. Mistakes can take some time to clear up. Disney Interactive Studios did a good job keeping this Nintendo DS game true to the source material. The humor did not make it through completely.

There are plenty of bright colors in Wizards of Waverly Place. The characters are halfway between squat characters, and normal full size. Various locales are in this hand held game. There are some nice special effects in Wizards of Waverly Place, especially in terms of the magic. There are simple images that are drawn for the magical symbols. Like the figure eight, or a circle.

The music in Wizards of Waverly Place is okay. The sibling characters are not always the nicest to one another. The parents do not always act the way I expect a parent to act. It is almost as if the teenagers are in control of the family.

There are a few of the mini games that I enjoy playing over and over again. Most of them are quick flash wonders though. Wizards of Waverly Place. There are certain special items hidden all over the various areas of Wizards of Waverly Place. Fans of the show will enjoy the various episodes, and feel their money was well spent on this DS game.

The majority of the controls in Wizards of Waverly Place are touch screen based. There are plenty of screens where the control pad, and buttons can also be used. There is a journal so the player can keep track of their quests, and which portions need to be completed still.

Wizards of Waverly Place teaches cleaning up ones messes, and helping out friends. The scavenger hunt/mini game is an interesting mix of game styles that keeps things fresh. I am not into the whole wizards thing personally.
