Wind in the Willows is a collectible DVD from the Disney Vault. This DVD is Volume number five in the series. Wind in the Willows is the main event animation on this disc. The rest of the animated shows are The Ugly Duckling, The Robber Kitten, The Grasshopper and the Ants, The Wise Little Hen, and The Golden Touch.
The animation is really good, and shows why Disney has such a good name in this industry. The music in Wind in the Willows has songs that will stay with you for hours. In fact I still have one song in my head. There is 78 minutes of animation on this disc along with a Collectible Litho Print. The few menu screens on this DVD are pretty cool, and I had no problems moving around.
Wind in the Willows teaches moderation, honesty, and righting wrongs. The Ugly Duckling teaches to look on the inside not the outside. The Robber Kitten teaches doing the right thing, and to avoid the criminal path. The Grasshopper and the Ants teaches hard work, proper preparation for the future, and grace to those who make mistakes. The Wise Little Hen teaches work if you want to eat. The Golden Touch teaches there can be a downside to what you may think would be great. It also teaches how bad greed really is.
There is more to life than Gold, and King Midas learned that pretty
quickly. I really liked Wind in the Willows, and that surprised me. I
also let some children watch this DVD and they were totally into it, and
they learned some great lessons. I hope Disney continues to release
compilations of their older work because they have a lot of great stuff.
