Walt Disney Animation Collection Volume 2 is Three Little Pigs. This DVD contains the cartoons Three Little Pigs, The Big Bad Wolf, Three Little Wolves, Lambert the Sheepish Lion, Chicken Little, Three Blind Mouseketeers, and Elmer Elephant. This DVD contains some neat little parables. Little Red Riding Hood, and The Three Little Pigs are the biggest two.
Chicken Little may surprise people (the ending), but it also shows the dangers of group think (following the crowd). Three Little Pigs teaches the lesson of proper planning. The songs on this DVD are very addictive. I still have the song about being afraid of the big bad wolf in my head. My children pointed out the word stupid is used multiple times in one of the cartoons.
The Collectible Litho Print is a cool little extra. The sneak peaks to other movies rounds out the extras section. I would have liked some more extras personally, but there’s not. The menu screen function properly, and I had no problems in that section. Three Little Pigs is only 62 minutes, but for some reason I feel like it is one of the longest in the Animation Collection. It may because there are seven cartoons instead of six.
This DVD makes me wonder what ever happened to characters like Elmer
Elephant. Lambert the Sheepish Lion is one of the more interesting
cartoons I have seen in awhile. The whole stork thing is from a bygone
era. The various characters that smoke and drink in Chicken Little may
spark conversation in your family. I think families will really like
this DVD.
