The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun

The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun is an interesting title that appears on the Wii, and PS2. There are all these different creatures and characters in this franchise. I did some research and found there is a cartoon that this game is based on. Obviously I had never heard of it before. Which is okay, because doing reviews for Family Friendly Gaming has expanded my horizons in many, many ways. The hero characters are a family, and the main character is a young man (pre teen). He does a lot of stuff that adults are not capable of.

The cel shaded graphics in The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun gives it the cartoon look and feel. The levels are generally side scrolling with a little depth to it. The attire choices are acceptable in The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun. There is violence as the player beats up bad guys. Certain animals can be mind controlled, and used to attack the bad guys.

I enjoyed the music in The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun. It was upbeat, happy, and fun. The bad side of The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun is the son consistently disobeys his mother. His father assists in this, and in my opinion sets a very bad example. The parents should discuss the difference, and come to a consensus. If you do obey your mother in The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun, then you will not experience any of the game.

The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun has a really feature where you get to scan the animals, and then learn about them. Most of them look hideous. There are enough levels to keep those ten years and up busy for a few weeks. Especially if you want to get all information on all the creatures in the game.

I really liked the various game play mechanics in The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun. The whole mind control is used to get past certain sections of the game. Swinging and jumping to get through parts of the game were a lot of fun.

Movie and TV show based video games are not always that great. The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun is an okay game that I found a lot of interesting game play mechanics. I would like to see a sequel to The Secret Saturdays Beasts of the 5th Sun.
