The Biggest Loser

I had just been shopping around for a new exercise game on the Wii. Wii Fit has been good, but I was looking for something more. Our friends over at THQ sent over The Biggest Loser, and this is exactly what I was looking for. This Wii game works with the Wii Balance Board, and is more than just exercise. There are positive comments, and healthy recipes.  I was leary of the yoga in The Biggest Loser at first, but after doing some, it is just like warm up exercises. Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels are in this Wii game to guide us through the exercises. There are event contest style events with the contestants from priors seasons of the television show. If you do not have a Wii Balance Board, do not fret, because The Biggest Loser can be played with the Wii Remote.

I found a lot of great graphics in The Biggest Loser on the Wii. There are locales like poolside that look great. The characters, and trainers are very patient with showing the player how to perform these exercises. One of the things I really like about The Biggest Loser is how simple most of the exercises are. I love the pictures of the healthy foods.

Trainers in The Biggest Loser are very positive. They also do a good job of motivating me to exercise more. I spent some time reading the tips from various contestants, and it is all great. Many of their quotes can be thought of to encourage better results. The verbal instructions mixed with the visual ones reinforce the appropriate way to do certain exercises. I did not find any offensive language or commentary in The Biggest Loser for the Wii.

The Biggest Loser contains four, eight, and twelve week programs. I can see families using The Biggest Loser for months  at a pop. I would encourage families out there to stick with this game when you buy it. Two family members can play The Biggest Loser  at the same time. I feel that The Biggest Loser is worth the money.

We did some fun little tests with The Biggest Loser on the Wii. We tried to cheat, and see how the game reacted. If the Wii Remote only is being used, there are ways to trick the game into thinking you are burning calories when you are not. This is when the exercise position is being held, and there is no movement. Otherwise The Biggest Loser is very good at stopping cheaters. The 88 exercises are great, and really improve ones life. The recipes are the other punch in this combination.

THQ earns the Family Friendly Gaming seal of approval with The Biggest Loser. This is the kind of video game the industry needs. I hope to see sequels to this game. The Biggest Loser teaches lessons in eating right, exercising right, and being conscious of calories. I am going to go back to losing some weight with this game.
