This is a fighting video game that teaches get them before they get you. Knock them out of the ring by hitting them as often as possible (thus increasing their damage percentage). Players get to use various characters from different Nintendo franchises. Mario, Link, Samus, Kirby, and Pikachu to name a few. Nintendo also partnered with Sega, and Konami to bring in some different faces.
The graphics in Super Smash Bros Brawl have gone down the path of the dark side. There still are some bright and colorful graphics, but a side by side comparison shows almost every returning character now has a darker look. Sonic the Hedgehog and Snake are included. Snake is from the extremely violent Metal Gear Solid series, and does not fit well with the rest of the cast. There is a solo mode of side scrolling violent action adventure for those who get tired of constantly fighting their friends.
Nintendo knows a lot about music, and included quite a few scores from their classic franchises. There are a lot of hitting sounds since this Wii video game revolves around ultra high levels of violence. Expect to hear your characters grunt or scream as they die. Dying is not permanent in this game, as players come back to life over and over again. Certain characters like Kirby have fun sounds which is odd when they are violently pummeling another character.
If your tolerance for constant violence is high then you might be able to find replay value in Super Smash Bros Brawl. There is an online mode to share content, and customization tools to create levels and share them with friends. Nintendo included their normal amount of unlockable content in Super Smash Bros Brawl. The level of violence is what drained this reviewer, and made this content meaningless.
Nintendo made sure to keep the controls extremely simple in Super Smash Bros Brawl. There is of course strategy, but a button masher going psycho will still beat the most intelligent opponents. Lesson in this Wii game is go crazy and you win. The WMG did not have fun playing this game, and it was a mega chore to play. The controls on the Wii are not as good in this reviewer's opinion as the Gamecube version.
There are a lot of anti-family people calling Super Smash Bros Brawl
a family friendly video game. The WMG takes the highest offense to this
because those saying that have the exact opposite definition of family
friendly. This is a ‘T’ rated video game, and the ESRB is always lenient
with companies like Nintendo. The WMG would say this get them before
they get you is for adults only. This is one of those video games that
make the industry look bad. Nintendo can you please let this series die
graciously? Only the oldest members of the family should even attempt to
play this game. Super Smash Bros Brawl is not for children.
