Spider-man 3

Spider-man 3 on the Nintendo DS is one of the worst DS video games the WMG has ever played. Activision does not have a good track record with super hero video games, but they keep churning them out. Someone out there must keep buying them otherwise Family Friendly Gaming would not be telling you to avoid yet another video game. If you have contemplated a purchase of this video game, please read my review first. Spider-man 3 is based loosely on the movie where Spider-man explores the dark side, and finds it lacking. The Green Goblin, Sandman, and Venom all make appearances in different fashions in a well crafted story.

Spider-man 3 on the DS really focuses on the violent nature of the series. Spider-man has to punch, kick, and web all kinds of bad guys. There are a lot of levels where the player must hunt down bombs, or other such problems for the city. Activision dropped the ball on this aspect making this game insanely difficult.

The visuals in Spider-man 3 are horrible. This is one of the worst looking DS games the WMG has ever played. There is all the previously mentioned violence, explosions, and just irritating acts the player must complete.

The audio department of Spider-man 3 made the WMG want to say adios amigos to this Nintendo DS video game. The lame punching and kicking sounds which are heard way too often fill this game like venom (sorry for the pun).

There is no reason to ever play Spider-man 3. If you take my advice then you have no worries about the replay. Trying to get through just the first level will take a lot of retries. If doing the same thing over and over again is your kind of replay value then you will love Spider-man 3. In the WMG’s opinion this Nintendo DS video game is not worth your money at any price.

The one shining light in Spider-man 3 is the game play. Most of it works well. There are a few frustrations, and the touch screen fighting mechanics annoy greatly. Swinging around New York city is cool, but the lack of 3D in this version limit that enjoyment. The WMG did not have fun playing this game at all.

Spider-man 3 the movie is all about rejecting the dark side, and embracing the path of light. There is redemption, hope, and doing the right thing. These are displayed at a lesser degree in Spider-man 3 on the DS. Activision put too much violence into this video game, and should have allowed for easier avoidance of violence - especially in seeking bomb levels. Avoid this video game.
