Santa Buddies

Santa Buddies is a cute little film that children will enjoy. There are probably quite a few adults who will enjoy this movie as well. The Buddies are back, and this time they have to help save Christmas. People have lost interest in Christmas, and forgotten the meaning of Christmas. So this magical icicle is melting. This icicle is what gives Santa Claus, and Santa Paws their magical powers. Santa Paws is the faithful dog of Santa Claus. The puppy (son) of Santa Paws does not understand what Christmas is about, and winds up wishing Christmas would go away. He wants to be an ordinary puppy, so he goes to find the buddies. Of course he causes each of them problems.

Children will get a thrill out of the animal aspect of Santa Buddies. The pooches get to frolic in a winter wonderland, and fly a little sleigh. The personalities of each puppy is solidified. There are plenty of new characters, and the Buddies actually have a much smaller role than I was expecting. The most violent this movie gets is a dog catcher catching stray dogs.

Santa Buddies starts out with a lack of faith in Christmas, and as they are faced with evidence, they begin believe. This belief winds up saving the day. I did not hear any offensive language while watching Santa Buddies. I did appreciate comments on this DVD about helping those less fortunate than yourself.

The Santa Buddies package Family Friendly Gaming received the Blu-ray and DVD together in one package. There are some cool extras like singing Christmas Carols with the Buddies. The Santa Clause is coming to town music video is also a neat little extra. I have seen Disney discs with more content, but the extras on theses discs are fun to interact with.

Santa Buddies tells a story of going from a skeptic to a belief. It would have been great if this movie had more content related to the birth of Jesus Christ. The menu screens are easy to navigate around, and I had no issues in that area at all. Children have a lot of fun watching Santa Buddies.

I have always enjoyed seeing characters go from a lack of faith, to facing evidence they can not reject. Santa Buddies also teaches helping out others, and doing charitable acts. There are plenty of animals in need of a good home, and I hope this movie warms some hearts into action in the future.
