Rainbow Islands Evolution

The Playstation Portable has been dismal in terms of Family Friendly Games over the past few months. I have been scouring the developers with no success, so I went to local retailers. After quite a few stops I found one video game on the PSP that I hoped would have some promise. That game is Rainbow Islands Evolution. Getting to create rainbows, and then walk on them made me think about Noah’s Flood, and God’s promise to never flood the earth again. This PSP video game does not teach about Noah, and thankfully the only reference to evolution is the name of the game (editor: maybe someday we will get games with Creation in the title).

I love the bright colors in Rainbow Islands Evolution. Ignition Entertainment included some nice little 3D graphics that make this game look like an early Playstation 2 video game. The bad guys are trapped inside these ugly monster looking bodies, and can be freed by the player. So in a way Rainbow Islands Evolution is like the original Sonic the Hedgehog video game in that regard.

I really enjoyed the musical aspects to Rainbow Islands Evolution. The bad guys are playing music too loud. In fact rock music is what turns people into monsters. Ignition Entertainment should be commended for their bold commentary on the problems associated with that destructive industry. Stopping those annoyingly loud, and obnoxious kind of characters resonates with me. I did not hear or read any offensive content while playing Rainbow Islands Evolution.

Rainbow Islands Evolution includes plenty of levels, modes, and features. This PSP video game contains good, clean, and wholesome fun that we at Family Friendly Gaming appreciate deeply. Rainbow Islands Evolution can be found in the bargain bins for under twenty dollars, so I feel this Playstation Portable is worth your hard earned dollars.

There are video games that are easy, and there are video games that are challenging. Rainbow Islands Evolution is simple in many of the main levels, but the boss levels are extremely challenging. With that said I found this to be a very fun game, especially leveling up the player and exploring every nooks and crannies. The levels exhibit a nice intelligent design. I found Rainbow Islands Evolution to be a lot of fun.

Rainbow Islands Evolution is a breath of fresh air in the video game industry that I personally appreciate. Too many video games glorify the rock and roll lifestyle. It is very nice to see a game like this one that tries to bring some reality to the school of video games. I would like to see some sequels to this franchise, especially if the boss difficulty is tweaked.
