Prism Light the Way

There are some real treasures out there waiting to be found on the bargain rack. I was not expecting a lot from Prism Light the Way on the Nintendo DS because I found it for fifteen dollars at Kohl’s. Usually I do not pick up video games at the retailer because they seem to get the low end of the spectrum. I took a chance on this Secret Stash Games (a label of Eidos) product, and boy am I glad I did. This Nintendo DS video game is a light based puzzler. There are certain little critters that give off light that need to enlighten the lives of these other little critters. Prisms, and reflecting the light quickly come into play. Even though Prism Light the Way does not contain any scriptures from the Holy Bible it does make me think of a lot of songs that talk about God.

The entire light versus darkness theme plays really well in Prism Light the Way. The art of the different little critters seems simplistic, but the special effects in this game make up for that. I did not see any offensive images while I was playing Prism Light the Way.

The music in Prism Light the Way is really catchy. It caught my attention, and enhanced this fun little puzzler in all the right ways. The special effect sounds are energizing to me at least. The storyline concerning the healing light resonates properly here at Family Friendly Gaming. I did not hear any offensive sounds while playing this DS video game.

Prism Light the Way has some of the best replay value I have seen in a long time. A lot of the extras seem standard (editor: or at least what we have come to expect), but they are executed really well. The multiplayer features with a single DS cartridge mean you can play Prism Light the Way with others. The one hundred and twenty unique puzzles kept me busy for quite some time, and that is just one of the gameplay modes.

Speaking of the gameplay, I found Prism Light the Way to be easily accessible, with the perfect learning curve. The assistance when getting stuck is a nice feature and one that taught me a lot about this video game, and how to solve the various puzzles.

From darkness into light Prism Light the Way screams quality. I want to see more games in this franchise, and the sooner the better. I will be recommending Prism Light the Way to friends, family, and my wonderful pastor. Prism Light the Way joins a lot of great Nintendo DS video games, and earns a place at the big people’s table.
