Personal Trainer Walking

Personal Trainer Walking exhibits how far the video game industry has matured over recent years. This Nintendo DS video game tracks how many steps you take in a day. Initially I was concerned that I would not hit the goal, but learned quickly I do a lot of walking in my daily routine. After a few minutes of setup the player puts the activity meter in their pocket, and then comes back many hours later to check on the status. This game lets the player know which times are the most active, and inactive during the day. The package comes with two Activity Meters, however four can be used at the same time (additional Activity Meters can be purchased separately).

Personal Trainer Walking has a Wii Sports kind of look to it. Miis can be created or imported from a Wii. The majority of the colors in this hand held fitness title are soft. The animations fit the theme of this title perfectly. I like the little Activity Meter character. I found no offensive images in Personal Trainer Walking.

Nintendo has always done a good job with the audio department in their video games, and Personal Trainer Walking is no exception. Not only that, but Personal Trainer Walking is very encouraging. I love it when a game encourages me to improve my health. This game does that in spades.

How long can you keep track of how many steps you take in a day? Only you can answer that question. Personally I have been playing Personal Trainer Walking for quite a few days with no interest in stopping anytime soon. Multi members of the family can play this game. At fifty dollars it is a little more than most Nintendo DS video games, but I still feel it is worth the price.

Personal Trainer Walking controls amazingly well. Syncing up the Activity Meters to the Nintendo DS take a second. I am barely aware of it in my pocket throughout the day. I am also interested in checking on my status and noting the times I am more active. On paper Personal Trainer Walking sounds like the most boring game imaginable, however in application it is actually a lot of fun. Different family members can get competitive about who winds up walking more in any given day.

Too many gamers grow horizontally (too fast and too often), so a game like Personal Trainer Walking is welcome here at Family Friendly Gaming. Everytime I think Nintendo can not come up with any new fresh ideas to make our lives better they surprise me. It has gotten to the point that I have come to expect it from them. Sequels to this franchise would be welcome indeed. Personal Trainer Walking earns the Family Friendly Gaming seal of approval.
