Paws and Claws Pet Resort

The well known, and well respected Paws & Claws series is now on the Nintendo Wii in Paws & Claws Pet Resort. The lack of a tutorial has been one of the biggest problems with other games in this franchise, and I am happy to report Paws & Claws Pet Resort starts out with an inclusive tutorial. Expert gamers can skip it at any time, so one needs to be concerned there. Players get to start out with small animals like rabbits. Do a good job taking care of the animals and bigger ones will come. It won’t come easy, but the good things in life rarely do. In fact perseverance is something gamers can learn from Paws & Claws Pet Resort. I enjoyed seeing that lesson in this game.

The soft friendly graphical look to Paws & Claws Pet Resort goes a long way. The animals are so very cute, as are the human characters. The colors in this Wii game are a celebration of the entire spectrum. I did not find any offensive images while playing Paws & Claws Pet Resort. The service aspect of this game reminds me of Christ.

Paws & Claws Pet Resort has awesome music in it. I could not get enough of the music in this Wii game. Others may get sick of the special effect sounds after doing a good job in a task of taking care of an animal, but I never did. The happy friendly nature of the conversations in this Wii game never got old. I did not hear any offensive sounds in Paws & Claws Pet Resort.

There are a lot of different animals, and hours of replay in Paws & Claws Pet Resort. The only question is if you can handle the one game play issue that will be brought up in the next paragraph. Taking care of all the different animals is a lot of fun, and it took quite a few hours to get old. My personal opinion is this Wii game is worth your hard earned dollars.

Paws & Claws Pet Resort can get repetitive with how needy some of the animals become. Taking care of the animals is easy, and so is moving around the small town. A few more characters to interact with would have been welcome, however the small town feel fits. A lot of the mini games with the animals are the same, so some diversity would be needed in a sequel. I had a lot of fun playing Paws & Claws Pet Resort, even with the really slow pace of game play (editor: a day takes too long in this game).

Family Friendly Gaming may be the only reputable gaming media outlet to find the good in Paws & Claws Pet Resort. This Wii game is safe for the entire family, and teaches quality care of animals. This game is not realistic with animal care, but how many video games are actually realistic? I hope to see a sequel on the Wii.
