Our House Party

I saw the cover for Our House Party, and did not think a whole lot of it. I booted up the game, and saw Home Depot all over this party game, and I let out a sigh. The game started to play that well known song - “Our House,” and my mood began to change. I thought maybe this game would be a high quality party game. Boy am I glad I gave Our House Party a chance, because there is a lot of depth to this party game I was not expecting. You start by going to Home Depot to purchase certain things for your house. Then pick a room to remodel, and its off to play some mini games. One player can play Our House Party, but I recommend it for four people.
The graphics in Our House Party are generally safe for the entire family. There can be some violence which is demolishing a room (before a remodel), or bumping into other players. None of this bothered me personally. I love how the mini games are things like planting flowers, delivering furniture, mowing the lawn and more. The details to the houses are nice, and I love being able to walk inside the house. The houses are small, so the camera is not always your friend.
Our House Party starts off with great music, and the characters are almost always positive. Even the losing characters say nothing foul. Our House Party is the kind of a game that four family members can play together without having to worry about hearing something offensive. The special effect sounds are realistic. For example dropping a tile brings a crashing kind of sound.
There are twenty four projects that contain 175 mini games. WOW! That is like taking Mario Party to the Nth degree. Our House Party also allows you to share you house with friends using WiiConnect24. As previously mentioned Our House Party allows for up to four family members to play at the same time.
Our House Party is part competition, and part mini game compilation. The money aspect of this Wii game makes me think of Monopoly, but it is close to the Mario Party series. The whole home renovation theme fits Our House Party perfectly. I ran into a few control issues, which were mainly me not understanding the directions (which come right before playing a game).
Majesco Entertainment has
done it again. They have another wonderful game on their hands that
families can enjoy. Our House Party is one of the better mini game,
party compilations on the market today. I would love to see more games
like Our House Party in the future. I wonder if Lowes has a game in the
works.
