Not Easily Broken

Not Easily Broken is one of the most difficult movies for me to watch. The reality this movie shows is intense just like lives of millions of people. Marriage has been under a vicious attack for quite some time now, and Not Easily Broken shows how difficult it has become in this day and age. Men are disrespected, treated poorly, and not listened to by a lot of women. Too many women put their careers ahead of their marriages, and then are baffled when their marriages suffer. Life knocks you down, but a three string cord is hard to break. The three cords are husband, wife, and God. Bishop T. D. Jakes has a cameo in this film based on his book.

Not Easily Broken is definitely a PG-13 movie. There is some rough basketball playing, fights, and plenty of angry faces. In fact the anger expressed is astounding. It breaks my heart that this happens in American homes all the time. There are also some sexually suggestive images on this DVD.

The message of saving marriages is a wonderful one that I really appreciated. Men get to express their side to the problems in many modern day marriages. That is the good side to Not Easily Broken. There is also a little bit of a bad side. There is language used in this movie that I would not want my children to use. A few of the words fit under the profanity umbrella.

Not Easily Broken has a couple of wonderful special features - making Not Easily Broken, and deleted scenes. Okay, okay, okay there are also previews to other films. I loved the making of, and just wish it had been longer. I also would have liked an explanation about why the scenes were deleted since they made sense to me.

Not Easily Broken functions flawlessly. I received some divine inspiration from the intelligent design to the menu screens. The story is an intense one that had me guessing for a long time. I will not spoil the ending, but I will encourage everyone (editor: old enough) to check out this film. Engaged people should also really study this film.

Not Easily Broken is a DVD that teaches the lesson about including God in our marriages. I find this reminder to be very important. After all how arrogant can some people be to think they can do it without God? I hope Bishop T. D. Jakes continues to write, and work on films. He has an insight that reaches a wide audience. - Mark
